Cable Front Raise
How to do the Cable Front Raise with good form: step-by-step technique, the muscles it works (delts), coaching cues and the mistakes to avoid.

How to do it
- Stand facing away from a low cable pulley, grasping a straight bar or D-handle behind your glutes with a pronated grip.
- Keep your feet shoulder-width apart, brace your core tightly, and maintain a slight bend in your elbows.
- Raise your arms straight up in front of you in a smooth arc until your hands reach shoulder height parallel to the floor.
- Pause for one second at the top, squeezing the front of your shoulders.
- Lower the weight slowly and under control back down behind your hips.
Coaching cues
- Lift straight forward to eye level
- Keep the torso perfectly still
- Control the negative descent
Common mistakes
- Swinging the hips to generate momentum
- Lifting the bar higher than shoulder level
- Bending the elbows too much
